This is a song inspired by the events of the Civil War, paticularily Gettysburg. The lyrics (which are in Latin) were written by my brother Tim, and the vocals are done by my friend Faith Liu.
lyrics
ut vīctor tumidīs sē mentibus excipit tardē,
sic mīles vīdit morte capī comitēs.
pōnere laureolās placeat fundentibus umquam?
cīvīlī bellō glōria nē habeat!
Idiomatic Translation:
The victorious soldier slowly departs, his mind a whirl of thoughts,
Just as he saw his fellow soldiers depart in death.
Is it every right to celebrate with those in desolation?
May glory not take precedence in a civil war!
